Dreams do come true

Co-directing a movie for this year’s Cinemalaya Film Festival entry is a dream come true for Amado “Dos” Ocampo, Jr.

The movie entitled Ang Bagong Pamilya ni Ponching is about a newbie text scammer, who happens to make a wealthy family believe him that he’s the long lost son of its dying member.

How long will Ponching (played by Janus del Prado) be able to convince the family? Can his conscience take it? Come watch the film and see how text scamming can be related to certain things we play in life, like those times where we need to keep our act together.

In the meantime, below are Ocampo’s photos when he was an aspiring filmmaker. According to him, photography is an important step to becoming a real filmmaker.

“Kakainggit talaga yung ibang tao naabot ang gusto nila. Ako ang natupad ko pa lang ay manalo as layout artist para sa aming newsletter,” Ocampo sighed during his frustrated filmmaker’s days. Instead of giving up, he used those times to hone his photography skills.

Cinematic, aren’t they?
